Casa Três
VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTÓNIO / HOME / TRIED & TESTED
With their attention turned to merging the rich Portuguese heritage & the modern traveller’s lifestyle, ‘The Addresses’ aims to indulge guests in memorable trips to the Algarve with their collection of stylishly converted dwellings. Casa Três is the third addition to that collective, a renovation of an old merchant’s house in what was once a thriving tuna fishing town on the border of Spain, Vila Real de Santo António.
Sleeping six people in three large bedrooms, the house is home to a pretty courtyard complete with a heavy citrus tree & a shimmering raised swimming pool. Vernacular features such as angular white walls, an art deco frontage & tiered terraces ensure the house blends in with its brightly coloured neighbours while retaining a fresh & modern feel, perfect for the design-conscious traveller. Interiors are inspired by mid-century finishes with tactile furniture, textiles illuminated by contemporary artwork. Nearby are some of the Algarve’s long & sprawling, sandy beaches & a pop over to Spain is easy for those wanting to mix it up.
Room Service
Location: Vila Real de Santo António, Algarve.
Price: Prices start from 1200€ per week from Saturday to Saturday unless otherwise requested.
Sleeps: The house sleeps six people in three bedrooms.
Highlights: With a location in the centre of town it means it’s just a short walk to the main square surrounded by restaurants & bakeries. The courtyard with swimming pool is also a welcome respite for those who like to be close to the action, but also want to indulge the fly & flop.
Our favourite room: The suite on the first floor is the most private with it’s own terrace overlooking the Medetteranian courtyard below.
Services: While the house is self-catered, The Addresses offer concierge service, so turndown can be requested along with a private chef & massages, excursions & restaurant bookings.

The Neighbourhood: Rent a bike at the corner of the street from Casa Três & cruise through the cooling Mata Nacional da Dunas Litorais pine forests. In less than fifteen minutes these roads will lead you to the deserted beaches south of Vila Real, also accessible by car in five minutes. Going east, small ferries will take you across the Guadiana river to Spanish historic town Ayamonte.
Things to know: Vila Real de Santo António is still quite under the radar in terms of tourist offer, so expect quite a paired back local experience in terms of restaurants & amenities. Parking is also offsite, but we recommend hiring a car to explore.
